Rachel Dara celebrated her 18th birthday with a fundraiser performance for her next launch, and delivered an amazing performance of her original compositions at Mariposa Café in Montreal.

Singer Songwriter, Rachel Dara, finally turned 18 last Sunday, October 13th, and rocked it at Café Mariposa off Upper Lachine Road in Montreal. A place that actually serves a HOT Latte (for once), and where I just happened to meet a young lad by the name of Maelle that I met previously though a common bus ride this summer while he attended a summer rock music camp where he learned and performed guitar. He just happens to be a longtime best friend of Rachel’s. Yes, the world is small! During the show, he proved his skills of being a human tuner with perfect pitch.

Rachel was graced with the presence of friends and family who all enjoyed her performance, sang along to her creations, and applauded her with joy during this celebration. Rachel plays the gorgeous and crisp sounding Rialto Jr. Satina Gray guitar made by Godin Guitars out of Montreal.

This event also helped in raising funds to records her next single. It’s Halloween month and her ‘Alien Friend not Friend’, Penelope, dropped down to visit her, cueing Rachel’s sang Broken Friendships.

This song represents that longtime friendship with that best friend that become estranged over the years. Penelope, wearing a pretty laced forest green dress conveyed their hardship of learning Rachel’s true feelings through a dance and muted social cues, played by Jess Cumberbirch from Studio Balletvolution.

And I tried my best to make it work, but you don’t want both of us only her, yet she did nothing compared to what I did. We’ve known each other since we couldn’t think, right now that’s what you’re not doing, I miss how it was back when we were kids.

Rachel, a BigRecords.World Alumni artist and produced by Canadian Legend, Mark Howard, will be launching her next single off the same title album, The Next Big Invention, on October 25th.
